Facilities Caretaker
Overview:
317 Main Community Music Center (317 Main) is a welcoming and dynamic space that fosters community through music and education. We take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment for all who enter. We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Caretaker to oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of our building and campus. This role is essential in ensuring that our space remains well-maintained and functional for staff, visitors, and community members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in designated building areas.
- Empty trash cans, replace liners, and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, door handles, and stalls, ensuring high hygiene standards.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and scrubbers.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, report potential hazards, and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and ensure compliance with sanitation guidelines.
- Support event setups and breakdowns, including arranging furniture and ensuring spaces are clean before and after use.
- Maintain a detailed cleaning schedule and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Assist in maintaining exterior spaces, including basic landscaping, sidewalk clearing, and keeping entryways clean and accessible.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in cleaning, maintenance, or facilities support preferred.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Flexibility to take on additional related duties as needed.
Schedule & Requirements:
- 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Flexible schedule to be determined at the time of hiring.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation: $22-$25/hour.
- Eligible for paid time off (1 hour per 40 hours worked).
- Discounted program tuition for self and immediate family.
- This is a non-supervisory position.
